ORIGO Journal First Issue "Maki-Buri"

This is the inaugural issue of ORIGO Journal, produced by ORIGO, an Italian restaurant in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It features beautiful photographs and text about "Maki-Yui," a specialty of the Noto Peninsula.

ORIGO will donate a portion of the proceeds to those affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. Sfera supports ORIGO's efforts and is cooperating as a retailer of ORIGO Journal.

This experimental, self-funded, and empirical print publication explores food culture through artisans, history, and community.
We hope you enjoy our inaugural issue, "Makiburi," featuring people of diverse ages, cultures, and nationalities who pool their skills to create artisanal products. Limited to 500 copies, we've crafted each one to be unique. We sincerely hope you enjoy it.


Regarding donations to those affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake:

The earthquake on January 1st completely changed the serene landscape of Noto and dramatically impacted the future of its people.
Makiburi (rolled yellowtail) is a specialty of Ishikawa Prefecture, and more specifically, the Noto Peninsula, with a history dating back to the Edo period.
We would like to donate a portion of our sales of "Makiburi" to those affected by the Noto earthquake. While our contribution may be small, we hope that it will help, even if only a little, in the recovery of the Noto Peninsula.
