Founded in 1875, Kaikado is a long-established manufacturer of handmade tea canisters, beginning with the production of round tinplate canisters developed in England. The company continues to adhere to the 130-step process passed down from its founder.
This tea canister is a collaboration model designed by Sfera and produced by Kaikado. It combines different materials, with a brass body and a wooden (boxwood) handle.
Kaikado tea canisters are so precise that they close automatically when the seams on the side are aligned and the lid is placed on top. Their airtight seal preserves the freshness of tea leaves and their flavor and aroma. They can also be used to store other items, such as coffee and dried food. Kaikado tea canisters also exhibit the beautiful aging that characterizes them.

  • How to Care for Kaikado Tea Caddy
    - This product is made of a material that is sensitive to moisture. There is no need to wash it with water, even before first use. Also, do not touch it with wet hands. If it gets wet, immediately wipe it off with a soft, dry cloth.
    - Avoid storing it inside the refrigerator, as humidity is high and there is a lot of water.
    - Gently stroke the entire product with your palm every day. Enjoy the unique luster and color changes of the material over time. Touching only part of the product may cause unevenness, so be careful.
    - When opening the lid, hold it by the top part as much as possible. This will open it without applying force. It will also prevent the lid from deforming.
    ・When closing the lid, align the seam line on the lid with the seam line on the body. Simply align the seams and the lid will close naturally.
