This richly textured combination of ceramic and wood is brought to life through the meticulous work and high-level skill of each craftsman.
The ceramic body is fired in Bizen. Each piece is individually tailored by artisans in Kyoto, who attach the wooden handle and lid to create a unique finish, each one slightly different in size and texture.
The ceramic body comes in two finishes: black glaze and yellow Seto. Both retain the rustic texture of the clay, yet are thin and lightweight, and their beautiful contrast with the contrasting wood material enhances their beauty.
