Plane Shelving

These sets of chic wooden shelving reveal the beauty of wood while
showcasing the techniques used to construct them. Planing tools
shaped each shelf by removing thin shavings of wood in order to make
the surfaces level and smooth. The shelves were then connected by
turned tenons, which lock perfectly into mortise joins to provide a
stable structure throughout. The joins create flexibility and strength,
forming a uniquely weightless set of display surfaces that is also strong
enough to support heavy objects. Crafted in a range of shapes and
sizes, the shelving is a rare combination of eye-catching elegance,
understatement and restraint - all hallmarks of the Sfera interior.
